Job Descriptions - Director-at-Large

 Term of Position

• Two years

Purpose of Position

• To represent the voice of the membership to the board

• To contribute to the governance of NSA-Colorado

Qualifications

• Member of NSA for two years and of NSA/CO for one year  

• Committee or program chair for at least one year

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison for one or more programs or committees, which may vary each year.

  1. Select committee chairperson/s.

  2. Provide leadership to chairperson/s.

  3. Ensure accountability of chairperson/s.

• Assist the President as needs arise

Competencies

• Knowledge of the speaking profession and industry

• Clear verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to lead volunteers

• Knowledge of NSA and the Colorado chapter

Attendance Expectations

• Recommended attendance at all ten Board meetings  / Required attendance at seven Board meetings (average of three hours per month)

•  Required attendance at Board retreat (2 days)

•  Recommended attendance at all NSA/CO monthly meetings (four hours per month)

•  Recommended attendance at all NSA/CO special functions (hours vary)

•  Recommended attendance at President’s Gala (approx. five hours)  

•  Recommended attendance at NSA National Convention (five to six days)
