Term of Position:
(*Must serve as President Elect
and Immediate Past President for two
additional years, meaning a
three year commitment)
Purpose of Position
-
To serve as
both leader and formal representative of the chapter, throughout
NSA as well as to outside entities
-
To set the vision & theme for the chapter for the
year
-
To support the board of directors in their
various positions so the vision is realized and board
responsibilities are successfully fulfilled
-
To initiate special projects that promote NSA/CO
and to meet member needs
Qualifications
-
Five Years as NSA Member
-
Served on NSA/CO Board for minimum of two years
-
Served as NSA/CO Board officer for at least one
year
-
Attended at least three NSA national conventions
or workshops
Responsibilities
-
Work closely with the board (particularly the
officers) providing direction and counsel
-
Preside over all chapter and board meetings
-
Plan board retreat
-
Build community within NSA/CO
-
Serve as an ambassador for the chapter to
Colorado, to the meetings industry and to NSA nationally
-
Plan President’s Gala for close of presidential
year
Competencies
Attendance Expectations
-
Recommended attendance at all ten Board meetings
/ Required attendance at seven Board meetings (average of three
hours per month)

Required attendance at Board retreat (two days)
-
Recommended attendance at all NSA/CO monthly
meetings (four plus hours per month)

Recommended attendance at all NSA/CO special
functions (hours vary)

Required attendance at President’s Gala (approx.
five hours)

Required attendance at NSA National Convention
(five to six days)

Recommended attendance at other NSA Workshops,
etc. (approx. three days per event)

Recommended attendance at annual MIC event (one
day)
