Job Descriptions - V.P. of Industry Relations

Term of Position

• One year

Purpose of Position

• To facilitate communication between the Meetings Industry Associations

• To promote the NSA brand. 

• To take a proactive role in bringing meeting professionals together. 

Qualifications

• Must have been an alternate attending the MIC meetings for one year   

• Must be a member of at least one other Meetings Industry Association

• Member of NSA two years

• Attended at least two NSA national conventions or workshops 

Responsibilities

• Be NSA/Colorado chapter liaison to MIC-Colorado

• Serve as chair of the MIC-Colorado committee

• Assist program chair for NSA/CO to organize an “Honor our Meeting Partner Day”

• Serve on the Executive Committee and report to President

• Assist the President as needs arise   

Competencies

• Good understanding of how all industry associations work together 

• Attention to detail

• Contacts in the speaking and meeting industries

• Some meeting planning skills are a plus

• Good organizational skills

Attendance Expectations

• Recommended attendance at all ten Board meetings  / Required attendance at seven Board meetings (average of three hours per month)

• Required attendance at Board retreat (two days)

• Recommended attendance at all NSA/CO monthly meetings (four hours per month)

• Recommended attendance at all NSA/CO special functions (hours vary)

• Recommended attendance at President’s Gala (approx. five hours)  

• Recommended attendance at NSA National Convention (five to six days)

• Required Attendance at all monthly MIC-CO meetings (2 hours)

• Required Attendance at annual MIC event (one day)
