    A Message From Our President

Welcome to the Colorado Chapter of the
National Speakers Association – NSA Colorado

In my business I have something called “Playbook Strategies.”  One of the plays in that book is “The Monkey Bar” play.  This is where my clients come up with a vision so compelling that every decision in the company hangs from it.  As I look at the coming year, many words come to mind for a theme or vision for our chapter, but the simplest way I can say it is “Create a New Vision.”  I hope you will look at everything you do, like taking your platform skills to another level, increasing your effectiveness in marketing, increasing your expertise and more with a “New Vision” of what you can and will be to your audiences.

It is my pleasure and honor to be able to serve you as President for 2011-2012.  You are an incredible group of speakers and your devotion to your profession has created a goal for this year’s board that is both challenging and fun.

Let’s start the year with a bang.  All our meetings are booked and scheduled at our traditional spot, the Denver Athletic Club.  SAVE THE DATES on your calendar now for all our events and meetings.  Enjoy the rest of the summer and I look forward to seeing you at the next event.

    Playfully,

    Barbara Brannen

What Our Members and Guests are saying about NSA-Colorado!

“I know I am a new member and we still haven’t had a chance to visit yet, I do hope to get to you know you better over the coming meetings. However I just wanted to drop you a quick line just give you a thumbs up on the past couple of meetings!!! It has been a wonderful and learning experience for me. You would normally pay HUGE bucks to get this kind of knowledge. So from the newbie THANKS!

“I wanted to write to you this morning to tell you how much I enjoyed the program — on several levels:

    • The inspiration of those two women — I loved both of their stories and who they are.
    • This is the first “networking “event I have attended in Denver in 2 years, where I felt like I was “with my tribe” — like “this is where I belong and this is what I’m meant to do.” This was not a passing fancy; I have been playing with whether I should take my career in the direction of speaking and writing for several months, but yesterday confirmed this IS my purpose AND that I actually can do it. Not to be naïve or arrogant — I know it will take a lot of work, but something really clicked for me yesterday, and I GOT IT — this is what I’m supposed to be doing. This meant so much, you have no idea. I’ve been struggling to have that sense of purpose for several years now. I plan to join as an associate member. My #1 priority right now is to speak to any and all groups in Denver who will have me… to get lots of direct experience under my belt and get comfortable with my message. I can see that NSA will be a critical element in supporting that.

    Regards,
    Lisa J.
