Never have I been more proud to be part of an organization than I was to be a member of NSA/CO at the NSA Winter Workshop. And those aren’t just MY feelings. A whole bunch of chapter members (including past national presidents Mark Sanborn and Scott Friedman)  expressed the same sentiments to me during and after the Workshop. We simply blew everybody away. Between the Hospitality Area, our chapter attendance, Kris and Tim O’Shea’s morning updates, and our efforts with the Tennyson Center, I don’t believe any chapter has ever received the degree of attention, admiration and appreciation as NSA/CO did at this Workshop.

Consider:

The Hospitality Area is typically a table with some coffee. We had a full mine shaft set where people could break open geodes, snack on gold chocolate coins, draw for prizes and have their picture taken with an assortment of costumed characters.

More than 100 of the Workshop attendees were from Colorado, representing one-fourth of the total. That smashes all previous records for host chapter attendance in terms of numbers, percentages, everything.

Our Members and Affiliates presented at 10 out of the 38 concurrent sessions. Colorado presenters included: Marilyn Ross, Patrick Williams, Travis Greenlee, Karyn Ruth White, Scott Halford, Michael Benidt and Sheryl Kay, Ruby Newell-Legner, Suzanne Vaughan, Pam Gordon, Scott Friedman, and yours truly.

At the Saturday morning general session, we presented a check for $11,283 to the Tennyson Center for Children, inspiring every other chapter in the process.

We gave the winner of the NSA/CO-Tennyson Center Speech Contest, Michayla Barb-Moore, a 13-year-old survivor of child abuse, a moment she’ll never forget: receiving her award plaque in front of a standing ovation from 440 people.

Special, huge, massive thank-you’s to:

  • Dick Bruso and Debbie Taylor for organizing the Hospitality effort
  • Diana Hall for wearing the much-commented-on miner costume
  • Nancy Noonan for recruiting all the People-Movers
  • Carolyn Strauss for organizing the Saturday night Coffee House
  • New Vista Image
    www.newvistaimage.com for the oversized check

And a big thank-you to everyone from Colorado who attended and made this one of the best Workshops ever! You make me proud and grateful to be a member of the best chapter in NSA!

A final thought: It snowed during the Charlotte Workshop in 2003 and the DC Workshop in 2006, but not during the Denver Workshop! So there!

Can’t figure out why your promotional materials aren’t getting you booked more? Well, 9 times out of 10 the problem isn’t YOU. It’s the WORDS!

There is no other skill directly responsible for bringing more money into your business than copywriting. Period. Even if you're not a writer, Lorrie's easy-to-understand tips and techniques will help you craft copy that gets prospects to take action! In this powerful program, you’ll discover:

  • Insider techniques that reveal how to effortlessly hook meeting planners eager to book you (so you can spend more time doing what you love most – speaking!)
  • How to craft a headline that pulls the most reluctant meeting planner into your copy (skimp here and it doesn’t matter how good the rest of your copy is...no one will ever get to it!)
  • How to use color and fonts to attract the eye like a hummingbird to nectar (when you know the insider secrets to the graphical element of copy you deliver an irresistible one-two punch!)
  • Shhh - A proprietary copywriting process that makes your copy connect so deeply with your audience they will feel as if you’re only speaking to them (think about it…if we don’t know, like and trust someone, we don’t choose to do business with them!)
  • And much more!
