The #1 question our NSACO Membership Director, Marty Dickinson, is asked in the first-timer room at our monthly events is this: “How do I start getting paid for speaking?” His answer is, “Join NSA Colorado!” of course.

On Monday, January 27, 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Marty will answer the “get paid to speak” question more fully through what he calls an interactive “DO-shop.” You will receive a worksheet and be guided through a series of steps in-the-moment to accomplish three specific objectives:

1. Define (or upgrade) your speaking topic in a way that decision makers are willing to pay for.
2. Set or recalibrate your reward of banana bushels (aka speaking fees) based on your value and expertise…and know when to start charging what you’re worth.
3. Get introduced to insider tips, contact lists and AI tools for finding paid speaking opportunities.

Marty Dickinson originally joined NSA Colorado in 2004 and has built three businesses through speaking, book publishing and internet marketing over the past 28 years. His audiences have included product vendors, associations, government organizations and his own events on the topic of “attracting sales opportunities.”

Marty is the 2024 recipient of the Scott Friedman award and founder of Speakers Speak LIVE, a free, national, weekly program for professional speakers to showcase their material and share speaking opportunities. He is the author of nine books including Web Marketing All-in-One for Dummies (Wiley) and Lions Always Win: How to Spot What You Want in Your Professional Speaking Business and Life…and Get it Too, with foreword by Lois Creamer.

Marty believes this is the best time in history to be in the speaking business or use speaking to build your business, "but only if you're willing to take the right action, at the right time, and in the right sequence of steps," he says.
