Welcome to the Colorado Chapter of the National Speakers Association – NSA Colorado
You know sometimes you just have to be around people who understand you! I cannot tell you how many first time guests as well as seasoned speaking professionals tell me at our events that they “come home” when they walk through the doors to an NSA Colorado meeting. So “come home” to us!
We have a new home this year at the Westin Westminster.
We also have a new format. Our Saturday morning meetings will start with a “Meet the Pros – Breakfast with a CSP” in the hotel restaurant. There is no fee for this but you do have to buy your own food and beverage. Only 10 people can participate each month in this special conversation. Also before the meeting will be our “New Members & Guests” session to get you off to a good start and help you meet the right people. Our founder Cavett Robert always encouraged us to share the “pie” and help other speakers, and we do that. Our Colorado Speaker’s Academy for the emerging speaker is one of the premier programs in the country for those serious about learning this business from those who are doing it.
Our theme for 2010-2011 is “Get Booked – Stay Booked!” and each month we will share content covering two of the competencies for the professional speaker: Enterprise, how to get the business; and Eloquence, how to get referrals and repeat business because you’re great on and off the platform! We will be using some technology in our meetings to bring you some of the “Legends” in our profession who have blazed the way and set the bar for all of us. Stay tuned for that!
So if you are new to the industry, we welcome you, and we will give you the tools you need to succeed. If you’ve been around awhile, and make your living as a professional speaker, we are your “people”, and we hope to see you when you’re in town! If you’re a meeting planner or speaker’s bureau, where else could you find so much talent in one place? If you’re a trainer or consultant or writer, come find out about this aspect of the communication business. There are as many ways to do this business as there are of us! See you at the meetings!

What Our Members and Guests are saying about NSA-Colorado!
“I know I am a new member and we still haven’t had a chance to visit yet, I do hope to get to you know you better over the coming meetings. However I just wanted to drop you a quick line just give you a thumbs up on the past couple of meetings!!! It has been a wonderful and learning experience for me. You would normally pay HUGE bucks to get this kind of knowledge. So from the newbie THANKS!”

“I wanted to write to you this morning to tell you how much I enjoyed the program — on several levels:
1). The inspiration of those two women — I loved both of their stories and who they are.
2). This is the first “networking “event I have attended in Denver in 2 years, where I felt like I was “with my tribe” — like “this is where I belong and this is what I’m meant to do.” This was not a passing fancy; I have been playing with whether I should take my career in the direction of speaking and writing for several months, but yesterday confirmed this IS my purpose AND that I actually can do it. Not to be naïve or arrogant — I know it will take a lot of work, but something really clicked for me yesterday, and I GOT IT — this is what I’m supposed to be doing. This meant so much, you have no idea. I’ve been struggling to have that sense of purpose for several years now. I plan to join as an associate member. My #1 priority right now is to speak to any and all groups in Denver who will have me… to get lots of direct experience under my belt and get comfortable with my message. I can see that NSA will be a critical element in supporting that.”
Regards,
Lisa J.
